About the event
This is a flat hike through trails of gravel, grass and sand, filled with lush vegetation and remnants of past civilization. It's history, beginning in the 1600's includes stories of refuge for some and a source of fear of the unknown for others. Originally encompassing 1,000,000 acres in Southeast VA and Northeast NC, it has been diminished to around 113,000 acres today due to logging and the creation of the existing canal system. Let's take a walk on the "wild side" and explore this gem together!
We will meet at Historic Corolla Park East Parking lot at 7:30 and at the southern end of the Food Lion Parking Lot in Kitty Hawk at 8:00. Let's arrange carpooling from those two locations and caravan to the Park together. Please text me at 252-202-7848 if you are willing to drive. I can carry three people and Little Joe comfortably.
