About the event
This is a flat hike on gravel, sand and dirt trails through lush vegetation and remnants of past civilization. It's history began in the 1600's and includes stories of refuge for some and fear of the unknown for others. Originally encompassing 1,000,000 acres in NE North Carolina and SE Virginia, it has been diminished to 113,00 acres today due to logging and the building of a canal system. Let's take a "Walk on the Wild Side" and explore this gem together.
Those coming from points north will meet in the Food Lion Parking Lot in Corolla at 7:30 A.M. Those coming from points south will meet in the Food Lion Parking lot in Southern Shores near the mail boxes at the south end of the lot at 8:00 A.M..
